Biography

Growing up in a small town in rural Ontario, Mark headed for hockey and other sports at a young age. But his fascination with music evolved to the point where he was not satisfied to be on the sidelines. By the time he hit high school in Wingham, Ontario, he was playing lead guitar and drums in several bands – rock and jazz – and then followed his music passion to a College Music Industry Arts program in London, Ontario. That’s where he expanded his writing, recording, and performing experiences, and got a taste of the night life in that city. After graduating in 2006, he and several classmates formed a rock band and headed to Canada’s capital city of Ottawa.

Since then, he’s been an active part of Ottawa’s young music scene, filling countless clubs and concert halls with his high-energy band. But Mark wasn’t finding creative satisfaction in the rock-alternative music scene, and started writing and record his own pop-crooner/swing material. In a matter of months, he’d written and laid down demos for over 30 songs. They’re a combination of pop and big band, with a fresh twist from the 40′s and 50′s Crooner era. He is now hitting stages with a talented orchestra to back him up, and making sure to keep audiences snapping their fingers and tapping their toes!
